Sandlot Sluggers does a great job capturing the feel of those backyard baseball games and the art work is incredible.Everyone remembers Cake Mania right? You know, one of the first top-50 titles available for free download in an advertising-supported model.? That's the one! Well, good ol' Majesco Entertainment the game's original developer, Sandlot Games, have announced a sequel for the DS version of the game. Not only do you control pitching and batting, but you also control fielding and base running. But comparing the two games, it should be noted that Atari's Sandlot Sluggers gives you more control over your players. If you want to use motion control, you are given that option as well, but understand that Wii Sports is far superior using the motion control method. My favorite control scheme is the "Old School" method using just buttons. I think that is a "Steal"!Ītari did a great job with this game and I really like the fact that you have many different control schemes to choose from. I purchased mine off Ebay in Feb 2010 for under 10 bucks which includes shipping. If you like playing video sports games, then you need to seriously consider purchasing this game. Video game baseball the whole family can enjoy Power-ups and special effects add excitement Fun-filled play in eight unique, interactive ball fields Featuring Backyard Sports' neighborhood kid characters
Instead of focusing on "kid version" characters based on real-life pro athletes, as in previous versions of the game, Sandlot Sluggers follows the "neighborhood kid" characters, familiar from other Backyard Sports games, and introduces a few new kids to the team as well. Games can be played in eight different fields, each with unique interactive elements. Gamers can jump right into a "quick play" mode, or lead a team of their favorite characters through an entire season. The action is exaggerated with power-ups, and flashy graphical effects highlight fast throws and big hits. Sandlot Sluggers follows the rules of baseball, allowing gamers to take control of players in different positions on the 3D field.
Pitched at younger gamers and baseball fans of all ages, Backyard Sports: Sandlot Sluggers brings familiar sports-game action and redesigned play features to the long-running, family-friendly series.
